The entrance of the complex was completed in 1684. It is red in color and is 30 meters high. It was built so as not to see the tomb before going through it. The original door was made of solid silver, but was stole from Hindu troops in the 18 century. Inlaid at the entrance signs look identical in size to that end, the font size from below upwards gradually increasing.
Today's garden is a pale imitation of the original 17 th century. Called Char Bagh and symbolizes Jannah - Islamic paradise that the Qur'an was divided into four rivers. To recreate Jannah builders built water channels, which divided the garden into four equal parts with 16 flower beds in each part, and in each of the beds there were 400 different plant species. Were planted many cypress and fruit trees.
Construction of the tomb of Mumtaz Mahal was a heavy burden for the whole country, which led to financial crisis. Taking advantage of the situation sons of Shah Jahan began to challenge the throne in 1658 Aurangzeb usurped power.
Shah Jahan had intended to die after being buried in a black tomb, built opposite the white. This unfortunately never happened. Last years of his life he spent imprisoned in Red Fort from where I contemplate the Taj Mahal. After Aurangzeb died and buried him in the white tomb to his wife.
Taj Mahal is one of the most magnificent tombs in the world and the largest and most unique architectural monument of love. Every year is visited by between 2 and 4 million tourists from around the world, and in 1983 was included in the List of World Heritage by UNESCO.
